When I go shopping, I often find myself getting wildly extravagant. One evening I came home from a shopping spree with not one, but two pairs of shoes – a Manolo Blahnik clog with rhinestone flowers on a leather vamp strap that made me feel like I was wearing a bouquet of cheerful flowers, and the other, a black peep-toe Christian Louboutin pump with a transparent fishnet mesh -it was hot! I spent a whopping total of $1550 for these two pairs of shoes!

That night, my husband told me he was going to freeze my assets -namely my credit cards. He took them from me and put them in the freezer. Literally. And there they have remained for the last one year.

Funny thing is I’ve only worn these shoes no more than a half-dozen times. I have now become a fashionista on a budget. If I can’t pay cash for something, I just won’t buy it.
